Bullet holes
Anyone remember those? I've been thinking of things from ages back, I and other mini guys fitted rear screen wipers to our minis in the 60's and a mirror on the drivers door, people thought it amusing. Funny how every car has them now!
Can you still get bullet holes?------and what about the Helphos windscreen signpost lamp? I've still got mine but the screen mount has lost its ability to stick.

eBay --- I might have known ! (Maybe I should correct my spelling!). Green shield stamps, wow yes, I've still got a claw hammer from a few pages of their stamps! On my way to school the garage I walked past, often had badges etc to give away.

Re: Bullet holes
In the 60's I ran my first car (1937 Rover 12, cost me a tenner) on Jet petrol. It was cheaper than National, Regent, Mobil etc. My rear window sticker proudly proclaimed "This vehicle is JET propelled". Wish I still had the car (and the sticker)!

I am surprised that Esso don't run the Tiger campaign again - with the little tails. And Shell 'Make Money' was a laugh too - although it did encourage just buying a single gallon at a time to maximise coupon intake..... I don't remember ever winning any money though!

Re: Bullet holes
One of the oil companies gave a Smurf of your choice , and was a favourite at the time (once you had saved enough coupons or similar I think)
Also a slightly later and more useful one was a free glass with each purchase. On a trip to Germany collected a few as they did 'Gratis Glazen' in most stations at the time (Did they copy us or us them

Re: Bullet holes
I seem to recall the glass tumblers they gave away had a habit of exploding
Maybe it was an urban myth.
