Traveller Rear Seat Belt

I',m looking at installing rear belts in a Traveller and standard solution is to mount the inertia reel on the rear arch without a top mount/ guide for the belt over the shoulder as obviously there isn't a C post.

In an old post someone suggested a bar behind the rear seat to raise the top of the belt. I've not found anything for a Traveller but this Land Rover product is the closest i've seen.

Is anyone aware of a similar installation in a Traveller?

Mine worked fine just over the back seat... What would you mount the 'bar' to ?? The Landy one looks too high - the belts will not be firmly on the passenger's shoulder.

I think it would have to bolt through the arches in two places each side. Agree that landy one won't work as angles would be wrong, probably too wide and the landy one bolts to the top capping which of course is timber in a Traveller so not much help.

The Securon website shows the rear belt without a top fixing but the concern is that in an accident a persons body would be forced downwards injuring the spine. Without headrests and only a very simple backrest fixing it is likely a moot point anyway but I was thinking about what is the safest way to carry a child.

I guess if done it would have to be fabricated by someone who does roll cage. Like a front belt the top fixing could then be at shoulder height rather than well below as the arch is.

Just an idea for a future project maybe.

On our traveller we fitted the recommended Securon inertia-reel belts to the rear arches and they pulled over the rear seat.
Very simple to install and operate. I'm sure it wasn't as good an arrangement as a modern car with built in belts but it was fine and MUCH better than no seatbelts at all I felt. When we had young children they sat on booster cushions just as in our modern car.
