54 Ser11 Splitscreen

Hi, After a run the radaitor on my 803 gets very hot at the top but is very cool at the bottom. No temp gauge or heater. The engine shows no signs of overheating. I have changed the thermostat-looked original- both hoses & back flushed the rad. With the engine running and i remove the cap (carefully) the coolant does not seem to move. Is this normal or perhaps a faulty pump?
Also- at cruising with light acceleration i expierence a thrumming noise & very light vibration on the steering wheel. This disappears on heavier acceleration & overrun. Thinking about dropping prop & checking uj,s. These are well greased and show no signs of movement, but the car done very few miles in the last few years. I purchased my Minor last Sept. with genuine 53000 mls on the clock. Advice appreciated.

If the radiator is hot at the top and cooler at the bottom, then it is doing it's job well. Quite correct.

Thanks for your reply. I did think so by the way the engine ran but you have given me peace of mind. This is my first Minor and my only regret is the poor weather stopping me getting out in it.
