First off, has it got an identity?
Are there any stampings on bulkhead, vin plate present? body code?
Some seriously knowledgable folks here will be along to help but without an ID it's going to be very tough I expect.

In theory - you can't unless you have the reg number for the car. But an appeal to DVLA may produce an age related registration for the car. What's the chassis number stamped on the shell?

If there is a chassis plate then there is some hope. Come back with the number when you have the car - plenty folks on here who will verify the manufacturing date. What you cannot do is to transfer an ID from another car to this shell, so you do need to trace down the original ID.

Chassis number looks to show it was a November/December 1964 built car.
Jan 1 1965 chassis number change point was 1092774 for the 2 door, and 1092770 for the 4 door.

POMM was looking for body number info.
On the top right of bulkhead when looking from front, you should find a small strip of numbers held on by screws.
They may be difficult to read, but a magnifying glass and good light could show the info. I don't have access to a similar age car to yours, but my 1971 traveller shows Z36*54 and 218 ***. Your numbers will confirm the age of your car.
Finding the reg number from the info is a bit harder, but keep in touch with POMMreg, as he is a wizard at getting a result on this sort of issue.

That's okay - although I estimated 4422xx - but 4426** is near enough!

Try whoever you bought if from...

If no joy, contact BMIHT for dealership details, then try appropriate City/Town MVL records....

Hopefully chassis number recorded too.
