Hi All,
My car has always had a small dab of fibreglass filling a hole on the sill end, just inside the rear arch. The entire rest of the car is rust free. I've put off taking off the wing to fix this for 12 years as the sills are full of wax - so welding will be hazardous. Any recommendations of how best to clear the wax away from the area to be fixed? Or ignore it and leave the dab of fibre glass?
Thanks
Alan

Re: removing wax to weld
I concur, better a small piece of fibreglass than a pile of ashes
Re: removing wax to weld
If the hole is not too big, an alternative could be to file it perfectly round and fit a blanking grommet. It could be removed occasionally to inject more wax,

Great minds think alike - I was about to suggest exactly that - do the same on the other side too.

Re: removing wax to weld
Thanks. I've ignored it for years but it's nagged at me as the only 'rust' on the car. Will now leave it as you suggest. I really don't fancy my chances with welding given all the wax.
