I have and use a Accumate 6V & 12V battery charger / conditioner which is similar to the product listed and it has given good service over several year and I would not hesitate to recommend the purchase of one.
Just get a solar charger - about £12 in Maplins - no need for cables and works very well. The solar panel needs to face south for best winter performance.
I bought a Maplins charger a couple of years ago on the recommendation of Mr Mc Ecosse- it lasted just over a year.......
I was wondering what peoples experiences were of the 'conditioning' as opposed to the 'charging'. Do they revive ailing batteries / keep them alive longer??

tried them without a great deal of success ,I think if its getting to that stage a new battery and trickle charger ,if the car is laid up,is the only way.Biggest problem is that the batteries these last few years are poor quality ,unless you pay mega bucks.
A dead battery is a dead battery.
The Accumate will revive a battery that is so low in charge that a normal battery charger would not be able to help bring it back to full charge without possible damage to the plates.
