Post by lencot76 »

Have just received a new rear bumper, from Charles Ware and I am very pleased with it .Without carriage it was £91.00and since it would have cost me £120 to have mine rechromed,by the people who do chroming for me ,then I am pleased I went this way

Are you pleased with the quality? I am in two minds on the re-chroming versus new bumper route.

Quality is quite variable between suppliers. I got mine 3 years ago from Birmingham Morris Minor Centre and was very happy with them. This was after I returned a pair to ESM which were shocking. To be fair to them, they just pass on the wrapped bumpers to customers, but when they opened up others they said they were the same. I assume they've changed suppliers now.
Usual ESM service though, refund immediately.

I have to say I am pleased with the bumper, and the carpets. My bumer had slight dents on it ,the new bumper looks like new,not a rechromed one.I would certainly buy a new one again from Charles Ware, also the carpets from Coverdale I would buy again.I will put photos on of both later Len

Here is the link to see the bumper and the new carpets. As I said earlier ,both the bumper and carpets were very reasonably priced and I believe they were very good value for money. There is only the chrome filler strip nightmare to complete on the screen and the restoration is finished.I can then think about selling it,and looking for another restoration.I always sell a restoration job on,when it is completed,as I enjoy the work on a car. Also since I have normally spent a fair bit on the car,I ned to return my costs, being a pensioner Len
