Free Christmas Moggy cam timing dial

Post by Declan_Burns »

Here's a cam timing dial I made for the Moggy. Feel free to print it off and use it if you are doing an engine rebuild or as a decoration for your garage wall. It might even look nice laminated on cardboard. Also available in pdf and dwg format.

Thank you for our present, Declan

I am putting a MG metro cam in my 1098. What experience have other members had with advancing the cam timing by a few degrees, as suggested by David Vizard?

Regards and all the best for 2016

Plenty of members are running with their cams retarded without problems. I've removed some seriously stretched timing chains in the past!

I bet you could go a few degrees the other way and not even notice if the truth were told.

That said if David Vizard suggests it for your type of application then go with it and I suspect the MG cams means you are looking to pep things up. In a standard engine rebuild cam timing is extra time and effort that isn't necessary - IMHO.
