It might be a good idea to add something to the heading in cars for sale, that reads --- ""please read this before posting"" that something being, letting posters know that a response to their post cannot unfortunately be posted. This new rule has been introduced without, as far as I can see, concern to update the posting advice.
I bring this up as a recent poster, who asked for opinions in 'cars for sale' section, is probably waiting for a reply, which due to this restriction is in for a long wait.

Its a good idea you raise, but its not exactly a "new" rule... it was put in place when I was a Moderator some time ago. It was decided at comittee level that it had to be put in place due to complaints from sellers about critisism and untrue (un-justifyable?) Agreed sometimes they were but the comments were putting sellers off advertising on this site which meant many items were just placed on either Ebay or thrown away!
