REFITTING ENGINE/G.BOX
Hello I have just refitted the engine and gearbox,I used a block and tackle hanging from my garage roof,and slowly pushed the car under the engine/g.box.There was a little bit of slight lifting and then slight lowering,with the b/tackle,but it went in easier than I expected .The hardest part,was lining up the 4 bolts in the gearbox mounting.However on my own (as I said I have no friends) it took less than an hour to get the engine in,and as long to line up the 4 g/box bolts.Now to connect the wiring /exhaust/clutch etc.etc.At least I seem to be getting there.Is it possible ,to give a link to my Orange photo box where all the restoration photos are.When I tried sometime ago it didn`t seem to work Len

Firgot to mention,that I fitted the gearbox cross member into place ,before refitting the engine/g box,refitting went smoothly.

No friends?? What about fellow Morris owners?? Whereabouts are you, there must be a branch in your area or not too far away, that you could join, go to pub meets and get to know other like minded enthusiasts.
I'm sure one of them would have given you a hand in return, at most, for help themselves in the future.
My local club, MADMOG, is great like that.
Glad you've got your engine / gearbox back in though, not as bad as you thought, eh?? Moggies are great to work on.

Due to having a heart vlave replaced,I was ordered by the surgeon,to step down in the size of cars I restore.So the Morris is a first,I used to restore Rover P5Bs so the Morris is really easier weight wise and simpler to work on .

Sorry to hear about the heart problems, P5B's are great cars, shame they never did a manual version.
I did however see a manual P5 at this years National and I've never seen one of those before, looked like an original set up though.
You should go along to the nearest branch meet though, I'm sure you'll make some friends.

You can run into far more problems,with a P5B than I have yet to meet on a Morris.So it is somewhat more relaxing to do a Morris Len
