Strange question, I know, but does anyone know if I need to have my rear seat in place for my car to pass its MoT?
(I've stripped out my interior for restoration and was hoping to avoid refitting it just for the MoT.)
Are there any MoT inspectors out there?!

Re: Rear seat necessary for MoT?
You do not need a rear seat for MOT. the driver's seat must be secure, but that's about it. MOT manual section 6.2 requires that ALL seats are checked for security, but it does not say that the seat has to be there, and if it's not there, then it cannot be tested.

Re: Rear seat necessary for MoT?
Several years ago after a restoration I completed the mechanical refit and fitted out just enough of the interior to be able to drive it to the MOT at 12.00 (passed) and then stacked all the panels in the car and was on my way to the National Rally by 14.00. I fitted the panels and seats when I arrived at the rally

You may get an advisory for seats not being fitted!
