Does anyone know which volume in Minor Matters showed how to successfully repair split metal on the inside window ledge-just above where the pull to leather strap is secured. I am in need!

hi i dont know if it has been in minor matters, but what i would do is cut a piece of metal about two inch long and place it behind the crack and secure it by two self tapping screws one each side of crack. next mig weld the crack together. next remove one screw and drill hole out to 6 mm and plug weld the hole, next do the same with the other screw, grind welds flush to outer surface and a thin skim with body filler, sand and paint. Dont forget to treat with waxoyl or similar on the inside area, hope this helps Graham
