Squealing on tight cornering

Post by James k »

Hi,
when I take very tight corners (such as in a multi-story car park), I get a squealing noise. It sounds like skidding tyres but I'm pretty sure it's not! It seems to be coming from the front, any ideas?

A lot of cars including new ones squeal in high rise car parks, i've always put it down to the slight scrub of the tyres on the surface due to the steering angles as both wheels don't turn equally. As long as your tracking is ok I wouldn't worry.

All of my recent modern cars have done that, Passats, Tourans, Audi. Especially noticable if it's a very smooth finish or painted floor.
