Alternator wiring Loom

Post by convertibled »

On my 1963 convertible rebuild I am just fitting a new wiring loom I got from Autosparks which I ordered with the addition of wiring for alternator.
As a real novice to wiring am I right in assuming there is now no need for the voltage regulator I bought? the wires in the loom seem to mean just that. If that is the case do all the brown wires go straight to the live side of the starter switch as they are already fitted with the correct terminal to go onto the thread??

The pics are for my new loom and the original (which actually had an alternator when I bought the car)
Im sure you guys will know?

p.s. after being told my muggy wasn't real without a starting handle on my last post I found the right bolt at Bull motif. At least there is now a reason for the hole in my front bumper!

Correct - no regulator. So yes - all browns go the battery terminal on the starter switch/solenoid.

Thanks for you confirmation. Almost everything is working, even the wipers park correctly. I just have the indicator switch and the rear lights to wire. :)
