Evening All
I have stripped all my old tyres off my rims today in readiness for fitting the set of bridgestone 145/80 R14's I dropped on from ebay. Before I fit the new tyres I decided it was time to refurbish the rims so have spent 4 hours with a grinder and cup brush sorting out the many years of old paint layers.
Before I start brush painting tomorrow I was wondering about painting the bead area of the rim, would it cause problems with the tyre sealing? what do you think?
When I had my last set powder coated they were fine but funds will not run that far this time!
Cheers

Re: Painting Wheels
It won't cause any 'problems' - but whether the paint will survive the tyre fitting is another matter! Use plenty of Swarfega.... You should be able to fit tyres without using a tyre lever...just a rubber mallet if your thumbs aren't up to pushing the last bit of bead over the rim!

Many thanks for the quick response BMC, I will give it a go. Must be easier than fitting them silly metric tyres to my metro a few years ago!
