At the practical classics restoration show at the NEC recently I was able to pick up a nice big offcut of porcelain green vinyl. I want to cover the inner rear wheel arches, rear parcel shelf and front kick panels with it. I will use very thin MDF (or similar) as a backing for the kick panels but am I right in thinking there should be some foam and/or cardboard backing on the rear arches and shelf? Anything that was originally fitted to my car has long since disintegrated! Thanks.

The rear arches has about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick foam underneath and the back parcel shelf has really thin foam under it.

You must be nearly ready for the road soon??

Thanks David. Lots of fiddly little jobs still to do but I am seriously hoping to have the minor at the National.
