Hot start

Post by wolseley6 »

This is a new one to me. I have a 1957 948cc in standard form, recently re-built throughout. Runs lovely but after driving 10 miles or so and then parking it wont start until I have let it cool down for an hour or so. Ideas anyone ?

Presumably it's flooding. Check the float valve - does the pump tick constantly when you switch on - but don't start the engine? It may help when hot starting to hold the throttle flat down - and no 'choke' of course.

Thanks for your reply. I eventually found it was a faulty condenser, just in case anyone else has the same problem
