Hi everyone, just after some advice. I used my moggie as my wedding car and it wouldn't start on the day. Turns out there was no petrol so filled it and it started fine. During the day it started spluttering. It got home but when I've tried to start it since it will start but then splutters and cuts out.
Checked and cleaned the fuel filter element with petrol and checked the plugs but no better. Checked the float chamber attached to carb and was full, float was fine but a few particles of rubbish in the bottom. I suspect the fuel pump as it seemed to have been overheating in the summer. Any advice?

Re: Spluttering Moggie
Float bowl was full - so can't be the pump. Look to the usual suspects - points gap/condenser/rotor arm.

Re: Spluttering Moggie
Oh no what a time for it to pack up
Does the pump run continuously when the engine isn't running? it should just click a couple of times then stop as the fuel pressure builds up. If it does keep clicking there may be a bit of crap stuck in the float valve.
