Voltege reguletor & cut out edjust with "Smiths" Meter
Last week I looked at the my car battery charging system Bz i see the Ampere meter very soon come to "0" ( off charging battery come 12.7 volt ) Befor i run the car Battery was 12.3v , then i increase the CUT OUT nut Small amount clockwise - then I run about 15 minute in good speed No on head lights and others - I see the Ampere Meter show 30 ( 0 to 30 meter ) and smith meter show 13 v , this time the Ampere meter not move towards " 0 " with out when the slow speed - it still in 30A - after end i check my battery using digital multimeter ,then it was 12.6v - the regulator/cut out adjustment do damage my dynamo ? my battery is New one (90Ap 12v battery ) the smiths meter like this (look pic) and say what i must do now may i adjust Voltage regulator nut small amount to clockwise [frame]

I think it's just right Sandun! And your battery was very low on charge, and is now charging up correctly. How long did you run on 'good revs' ? It would need a good 30 minutes. Battery off charge at 12.6 volts is absolutely right. And your meter at 13 volts on charge is also correct - in fact as the battery charges up - it may well rise slightly higher. As long as it stays in the green - don't worry!!

I have adjust The CUT OUT Nut now, so it not off at the 12.6 volts of battery - I run 15 minutes i think

And the ammeter still shows +30 amps after 15 minutes?

yes it still 30+ Battery was 12.6v ( 12.58) - I remember before changing cut out settings charging off 12.7v and Ampere meter come to about 15Am it close to 12.6 - so I think 12.7 is battery not a full charge it want to be 13.5 I think so i increase the Cut OUT - but i am afraid it will be damage my dynamo - I note the Smith meter it only 13v not more if i do speed the car
Re: Voltege reguletor & cut out edjust with "Smiths" Meter
The 'cut out' simply defines when the charging will start -and when it will stop. That is - it will only connect the dynamo to the battery when the dynamo volts are higher than the battery - and similarly it will disconnect when the dynamo volts drop below the battery volts.... So I suggest you leave it alone!! You need to adjust the other coil - which adjusts the feed to the dynamo 'field' coils to increase (or decrease) the dynamo output voltage. It should indeed rise to almost 13 volts with a dynamo - and I still think that either your multimeter reads low (12.58 volts when the Smiths shows 13 ) - or your battery is still very low on charge .. Can you check the multimeter on another car with engine running to see what volts it shows there??

"your multimeter reads low (12.58 volts when the Smiths shows 13 ) " - The multimeter read 12.58 at the stop car after run 15 minutes - smiths show 13v when the engine run speed-

And does the Multimeter also show 13 volts then?
