Minor Millions Spotted

Post by Deux Chevaux »

I've just returned from a day in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, and a convoy of around 6 to 8 Minor Millions came past. Was just wondering what was going on locally? Haven't seen anything mentioned.

Photo taken at Skaw Beach, Unst, Shetland Islands. The very end of the most northerly road in the British Isles.

Owned 663 KYC a 1961 Clipper Blue Morris Minor Tourer.
Propriétaire d'un 1988 Vert Bambou et Blanc Meije Citroën 2CV-Six Spécial.

It was most likely something to do with the Minor Million rally:

Saw one of the Millions on the A40 between Huntley and Lea when I was returning home from the Alan Keef open day.

Brillant! I always remember seeing the big line up of them at the 50th anniversary at Blenheim, I must look for the photos.

They look great, all together like that.
Hopefully it will inspire someone to return number 14 to roadworthy condition.
Was it brought along by it's new owner or was it up for sale?

Best wishes,
Mike.

Is that the car that's been on eBay with a price of £10,000?

The one on EBay was chassis number 179 which funny enough didn't sell for the 10K it was being advertised for. This one is number 14 which was sold but for a much more realistic price ![frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

Going back nearly 20yrs ago I was on holiday on the Isle of Skye with my Minor convertible and had a local tell me there used to be a "pink" one running round the island, and it's located at Linicro, north of Uig. I took a run out along the road and miraculously found a lost Million. Was in a very sorry state, sat behind the old Post Office. Had been completely destroyed by the local children over quite a long number of years. I did take lots of photo but need to put my hands on them. If I do come across the photos I'll stick them up on here. Don't get too excited though, those two cars above are in far better condition than the remains I found on Skye. They both still have their roofs in place for starters. LOL

Hopefully we'll see the restoration on here, unless they entrust it to Fuzz Townsend................
