Which wing?
Probably looking to replace this wing as its a little shoddy around the indicator light.... but which wing do I buy? Guidance on the right one for the light configuration would be great. Also assume they are pretty simple to take off? Anyone who has advice from doing it would be great to hear from.[frame]

Re: Which wing?
That type of sidelight requires a smaller hole in the wing than the later combined flasher and side light, you can buy a hertiage one modified to fit from ESM

The later wing can be modified to suit by either welding in a plate to close up the hole a little or I made a plate and just bolted it in with the sidelight. These are a lot cheaper to buy but sometimes have to be adjusted slightly to fit

The wings are just bolt on, and in theory straight forward to remove but seized bolts and rust can make it into a bigger job, theres also a very good chance of finding hidden rust down at the hinge pillar end.

Too many Minors so little time.....
Re: Which wing?
So on the first link you posted, I wouldn't have to do anything bar only taking old one off and putting new one on.. all things being equal? The holes are there for the three lights?
Also if the buts and bolts come off what should I put on to make sure they can come off again - copper grease??
No doubt I am going to find rust and all sort when I do it. At that point I suspect I will be coming back for more advice.

Re: Which wing?
No - there won't be a hole for the orange light since it is a non-standard addition....... You would do better to simply repair the wing you have..

Re: Which wing?
The wing looks like it has already been repaired appallingly - hence why I think I new wing might be needed.
Re: Which wing?
Though to be fair - I lose nothing having a go at repairing it.. and if I stuff up - that's when I can get a new one. Looks like the light has been held in with filler etc..... so what advice... (Remember you are talking to a novice now
)
Re: Which wing?
Strip it all out to see exactly what's needed - welding in a new flat piece of metal not too difficult there...

Yes, I agree!!bmcecosse wrote:No - there won't be a hole for the orange light since it is a non-standard addition....... You would do better to simply repair the wing you have..
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
