Vibration

Post by chrisgriffiths »

Hi Everyone.
I'm getting a vibration through the car when driving between 40-55 mph then it goes away.
I've just fitted new universal joints. Has anyone got any ideas as to where or what I should look for or check

Best Regards

Chris

Were the joints moving easily? And greased? You could try turning the prop 180 degrees on the final drive flange.

Were you getting the vibration before the U/J change?
If you were check that no balance weights have come off the wheels.

I used to get that in my convertible. Resonance of some sort I thought at the time. We called it "the jump to light speed" or "breaking the sound barrier". It went away at higher speeds. Very disconcerting.
