Nope - I can still find it...Anyway - This one sounds more like the clock is working, but the cable is not going round. The gearbox usually needs more than a thump to fix it.
At the gearbox end there is a large round plastic insert that the cable screws into. Remove the cable, then unscrew the insert. Withing the insert is a steel shaft that has a (plastic?) gear on it - Check that the shaft still fits snugly in the insert and also that the plastic gear has no missing teeth and is tight on the shaft. Check the cable end of the cshaft to make sure the square hole is still there and the cable fits it well.
If all that is fine then something fairly odd is happening - put the insert back in the box and re-recheck the cable and speedo.

Please people, if the miles are still added, the cable should be fine? I am really getting [Don't swear or you will be banned - Admin] by not being able to see how fast my Elisabeth can go! I think i'll just get another clock with good reading, that's in miles not some stuuuupid clock that's converted to kilometers, so I can only go as fast as 90 kph, then the clock runs out... grrr
