Mystery item in engine bay (at least to me)

Post by purps »

Hello all! Hopefully an easy one. Little silver cylinder with a wire coming out of it, sort of clipped onto the coil - what is it? My guess was condenser, but then I thought this lived in the dizzy?

Said wire is not connected to anything! Car runs great so can't be that important, no but seriously, it does keep me awake at night.

Cheers,
Matt.

Well that explains the hole in the back of my drivers glove box, radio must have been mounted in there. Thanks, would never have worked that out.

Cheers,
Matt.

Handy as an emergency condenser - connect it to the dizzy side of the coil if the condenser fails.
