1098cc Timing Chain
While i have the engine out and front cover off, should the chain be replaced as a matter lf course? Thanks

If it's a single chain consider upgrading to a Duplex chain and sprocket kit - good value at around £30.

Depends if it has been rattling. The bottom sprocket is also likely to be badly worn - not so much the top sprocket. So if fitting a new chain I would also fit a new bottom sprocket - and the rubber rings. Duplex is for high lift cams and daft high force valve springs......it is no guarantee against future rattling. The Mini simplex chain with tensioner is best by far for a standard / lightly upgraded engine - but it does require a new timing case with the 'bulge' in the side.
