Breather pipe

Hi is the pipe on the tappet chest a breather input or output because mine as be blocked by a bit of sealer .so what promblems is this covering

Its an output, to reduce pressure within the engine, so you should make sure pipe is clear. There is also a breather on the tappet cover as well. Too much pressure inside the engine can force oil to leak out. Do you have any problems of excess oil leakage, particularly at rear of engine

There some oil drops by the split pin in the bell houseing but not any on the floor and had ever had to top the oil up in the past six hundred miles

The breather pipe must be OPEN - to allow fume out - or air in - as the running conditions demand. 600 miles and no oil top up ? Crikey - probably a record... :x
