Is there any way - on the diff casing - to identify each type; 803/948 or 1098?

Those of you with 1956 Minor's AND their respective BMHIT Certificates, would
you PLEASE e-mail me with the following details;
Chassis/Gearbox/Rear Axle/Key numbers PLUS the build date.

Information GREATFULLY appreciated

Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

The alloy diff casing is usually stamped with the ratio eg 9/38 or do you mean the axle casing?
