morris minor door lapel badge?
Friends, anyone know where I can get one of the little MM door badges from, think it might have been a bloke called John Barker who makes them?
thanks
Ian

In Martin Wainwright's book he mentions that John Barker made them from a workshop in Ugford in Salisbury (there is also a photo of the lapel badge in question).
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: morris minor door lapel badge?
I think a photo would be useful as one post is asking for a door badge (inspite of the post title) and the other is saying its a lapel badge, so its managed to confuse me completely (nothing new there though)
Cheers

Re: morris minor door lapel badge?
Kevin - it's a lapel badge in the shape of a Minor front door
Apparently the artist John Barker made hundreds of them between 1975 to the early 80's but now just makes the occasional one if commisioned as they take quite a lot of finishing by hand. There was one for sale on e-bay a while back but that's the only one I've ever seen so unless someone here owns one the chances of a picture being posted up are quite slim. However as pao7psb has already stated, there is a photo of one in Martin Wainwright's book for anyone interested.

Re: morris minor door lapel badge?
Thanks for the clarification.a lapel badge in the shape of a MM door
Never heard of or seen one, I was going to suggest you wait 25 years and get the tie pin which could do service as a lapel badge for the non tie wearers among us.
PS. Would one in the shape of a 1000 door look any different?

Re: morris minor door lapel badge?
Have only just seen your posting re the Morris Minor door lapel badge produced by John Barker. I have one and its fabulous. They are hallmarked silver and about 1.1/4" at highest point and 1" across. They are still available at a cost of £40 which includes special delivery postage. John can be contacted by email john@johncbarker.co.uk, by telephone 01722 743323 or by mail The Old Farmhouse, Ugford Wilton, Salisbury SP2 0EB. As mentioned in other postings there is an excellent picture of one in Martin Wainwright's book.

Pity you're not offering these separately - I would love one, but I cannot afford £300!

Re: morris minor door lapel badge?
I have just purchased one of these lapel badges from John and he currently has 9 left from his last batch. The finish is superb and the photo doesn't do it justice. Part of the problem is the badge is so shiny the camera can't focus on it. The current price is £48 plus postage which for me was £5 for Special Delivery but you would need to check with John. His contact details are as per BTB's posting of June 14, 2011. He accepts online payment to make it even easier and it arrived the next day.[frame]
