Hi, finally started the strip down on my traveller. The whole rear wood is shot so I'm replacing the lot. Can anyone give me pointers on what to look out for when removing the rear frame please so I don't bugger anything up that I will need again.
Thanks
Dave

Re: Traveller strip down help
Hi Dave
I was fortunate enough to find that the wood on 'my' traveller was quite sound but needed a major overhaul on the finish to give it a few more years life, without replacement sections. One or two of the members on here gave me sound advice suggesting to invest in Ray Newell's '' Morris Minor Traveller - the Complete Companion''.
It was WELL worth the £30'ish ( bought from the club site ) and has a large step-by-step guide to rebuilding the framework in a professional way. *It will probably save you time and money and is there on
hand for each part of the rebuild.http://www.mmoc.org.uk/posting.php?mode ... =5&t=55661#

Re: Traveller strip down help
Definitely agree about the book. Will send you a PM also.
Re: Traveller strip down help
I recommend taking lots of photos as you strip down..also dont throw any old stuff away until the new is fitted..there are various brackets rubber bump stops and the like that even if you are not re using are useful for reference.
Carefully note the type and length of any screws and coach bolts etc that come off 'intact' and start sourcing the replacements whilst you wait for the new timber...
