Replacement panel help?

Post by laneychief »

Hi guys, underside of morris is pretty dead and I'm in the process of getting new bits to fix him with!

I don't know the names of the panels or which bit is which, can anyone help?

Firstly, I need this panel![frame]Image[/frame]

If anyone could link me to it on ESM that would be amazing!!

Warming up the credit card....

Cheers, Edd.

Hi, That is part of the sill assembly, here is a link to the Moss website with schematics of what parts you may need.
http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Shop/ViewP ... exID=17115

Also here is another link, http://www.morris-minor.co.uk/p427.htm it also lists body panels

Have fun :)

Am I right in thinking that's the undersill?

Thanks!

The part you need is no 32 on the moss website. It also shows a side view of the components that make up the floor and sill assembly.

Nice one, that's the conclusion I'd come to! Should I be worried that the RH boxing plate has been repaired with a solid panel??

I would be worried as it it most likely that the boxing panel was corroded and the plate was welded on to "repair" it.
My advice is be prepared for the worst when you remove it :o

Certainly doesn't bode well in terms of the level of bodgery your car has suffered, but many have been brought back from similar or worse. You'll probably find fairly serious corrosion to the sill step as well. Recommend that you spend some quality time with the resto threads posted by Taupe or Neil MG (there are others as well!). And don't be tempted to do too much cutting too soon - even well rusted bits provide valuable reference points.

Looks like you need a new boxing panel and also an under outer sill. If these have gone you may also find the front and rear floor edge panels need work too!
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Cheers all, the lh looks ok but I was worried about the RH and what horrors lie beneath the solid metal!

Concentrate on one side at a time. Work your way around the car. That way it's not too daunting a task! :D
