Damper arm pin gap.

Post by morris-out »

Hi All.
I have a 2.6 mm gap between the damper arm and the washer on the upper pivot pin.
The castle nut that is tight and the split pin can be inserted, I doubt very much that the damper arm will move further onto the pin since there was considerable rust around that area and will probably be very seized. I presume that this is not acceptable and the only solution is to knock the pin out and fit a new pin.
It will have been like this for decades so will have to use lots of force to be removed.
Any advice very much appreciated.

Excellent!

Thanks, I continue to assemble the front suspension, followed by the rest of the car.
