Hi all,
I have a 56 series 2 with the 803 that is in the process of a full restoration.
I have the original H1 carb which I need to rebuild but I read about using the H2 instead. What does everyone think? Will I get better performance? Will the car run better? Will it fit to the 803 manifold?
I really just would like some educated opinions please.
Thanks
Mark

Re: H1/H2 carb
H2 carb might have mounting holes further apart than the H1, so may not fit the manifold.
I have no experience of the 803cc engines, but I imagine the bigger carb would only give you more power at high rpm, something which I would be keen to avoid with an 803cc! In terms of the engine "running better" I dont think the H2 would be in any way more or less reliable than the H1.

Re: H1/H2 carb
As above - you would need to use the Minor 1000 manifold... And trying to get extra power from an 803 is only going to lead to it's early demise..... Fit a complete 948 engine if you want some extra power.........
