Fuel Pump Adjustment (I've read the threads)

My twin point fuel pump seems out of adjustment in so far at to make it work consistently I place a small piece of card behind the roller at the back of the points assembly and it rolls over just fine..
Do I need to remove the pump and set it up in accordance with the YouTube Video linked in a previous thread (2011).
Or are there some adjustments from the points end to check before removing the whole assembly;
IE- What should the point gap be?
The contacts are clean.

You'll need to take it apart - I dunno about 'you tube' - just follow the workshop manual instructions. Remind s me I have a couple of pumps I picked up at an autojumble - one works fine and other does as you describe.
