Post by samuria »

while driving home the car just stopped :-?
was helped to push it onto the path
car was running fine until then...
had plenty of fuel just filled up.
switched on the ignition and the pump wasn't
ticking!!!!
done all the usual tapping pump etc but no joy...
turned the key and off she went...
but still the pump not ticking...
and seemed under power...

Pump must be working if it started up. Did it cut out 'suddenly' (typical of bad connection/Ignition failure) or did it splutter and then peter out (typical of fuel failure)? Just after filling up.....not diesel by accident?

First warning for fuel pump - maybe sediment stirred up in the tank... Clean the pump filter and inspect/clean the points. Let it pump a gallon into a can - how long does it take?
