Metallastic eyebolt bushes

Post by vee12jag »

Hi, I have just bought some metallastic eyebolt bushes from the MMOC parts dept. I am told they need to be modified to fit and that I should refer to a previous issue of Minor Matters where this was discussed.
Unfortunately I am a 'newbie' to the MMOC and don't have back issues of the magazine.
Could someone therefore please advise me how to modify these bushings. I note they are slightly too long. Is it just a matter of cutting to the same length as the eyebolt? If so can a staight cut be done through the rubber and the metal bushing or is it important to somehow keep the taper on the end of the rubber?
Any help would be greatly appreciate.
Thanks
