Thanks! Bought a new hob for her - just need to find someone to install it safely. Any gas fitters local to Glasgow - please post up!!

Isn't there a gas supply and safety valve already installed for the previous hob, if so can't you connect the new hose to it? Although I'= suppose you would have done that if it was the case!

hobs need to be rigid piped and for selling purposes in future you need a gas regs certificate from a registered engineer

I could easily do it..( and did plumb in my own hob at home some 20 years ago..) but - it's a block of flats - and while blowing up my daughter might be considered 'careless' - destroying the whole block could be frowned upon.....

Why don't you put a request in the Wanted section for a gaz fitter. We have so many members with different skills on here you might be lucky!
