Re: eBay
that car is worth a look at. from the pictures it looks like the paint maybe original and has worn thin due to years of washing and polishing, so it will need DA sanding back to bare metal, and repainting also a door or door repair panel, boot lid and a wing. most important check the cross member under the seats, the floor panels and all four inner wings. most of these cars can be made exellant again due to most of the panels being available, its all down to the amount of time and money you want to put in.from experiance i spend double the amount of money and twice the number of hours i thought it would take, but i still love bringing them back to life, good luck, graham

Re: eBay
Being white tends to accentuate any little bit of rust making it look much worse.
It's the underneath you need to look at and under the carpets to see what the structure is like.
Looks an honest car to me, well worth a visit.

Re: eBay
They just added more info. Thinks it's a bit too much work, sent me more photos of under the car, said cross member buckled, looks to be a full restoration job.
Still a bargain I guess if ya clever and can do all the tricky jobs

Re: eBay
That isn't the important cross member, the one across the middle of the car is.The Chassis Rail going across the front of the car is a bit buckled from what looks like jacking up in the past
The jacking points which is what I assume he means by pick up points are best removed in any case.
Interesting to see the pictures they sent, it sounds like any easy project, maybe a rolling restoration to me.

Re: eBay
The hole near the back spring is probably close enough to be an MOT fail,
There has been a plate welded to the near side chassis leg at the front, all pretty typical for a car of this age.

Re: eBay
Looks better than mine but that does not say much, you could patch it up for a couple of MOT's but I reckon before long you would end up needing to replace quite a large part of the structure. the front X member and siderails would also need prety extensive repairs judging by the patches.
