austin 6 cwt van body number location

i have Austin 6 cwt van, 1971.
the problem is that i have to find stamped body number somewhere.
i have tried to locate it but i can't find it anywhere.
can anybody help me, and tell where to find this stamped number?

on my van the number is stamped into an aluminium plaque about 200x80mm and this is riveted to the passenger inner door card. as far as i know it is not found anywhere else, hope this helps

There is no vin - body number stamped into the vehicle.... will either be a large alluminum plate on passenger door or one on the bulkhead near wiring loom ... sure chris from POMM will be on soon .... :)

This only applies to Hm.Mkt. LCVs after 216950.

Are we talking chassis or cab number location?

pm me whatever numbers available.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

The cab number can sometimes be found on the engine bay floor on the exhaust side near the front.

Yes, as its a 1971 model it would have had the large chassis plate on the left hand door trim, but I think thats long gone on that pickup (I owned it briefly about 7 years ago!). I assume it has a repro car type chassis plate screwed or rivetted on the bulkhead (which is what the MOT tester would have used when I had it tested) . I don't think these later commercials had a stamped in chassis number, so if your regulations need one, you may have to stamp it in yourself possibly!
