Re: FAMOUS VAN ?
Looks like the CASTROL van but its not... and the inside roof gutter looks very dodgy for that asking price!

Ask the question on ebay if you really want to know.
Seller is A1moviecars. Has it been used by James Bond maybe?

Re: FAMOUS VAN ?
You get this with these TV dribblemags, which assume you know every celeb.
I wonder whether RRV 531J is famous in Syria or Egypt?
Perhaps the Taliban are drooling over its pictures as I type?

Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Re: FAMOUS VAN ?
Much less chance of Terrorism if we stopped bombing their wives & children
RRV 531J's ex-SEB I think.
Repairs to the rear cargo were undertaken by Bob Thermos, the world famous shortsighted & alchoholic
Morris Minor restorer.
Or was it Lee Wildebeest?

Re: FAMOUS VAN ?
RRV 531J AKA Romeo as David Thomas named him is my old van I bought off Maurice Rapley about 15 years ago and spent about 6 years restoring from the ground up putting the Ital engine and ford 5 speed box in and the back has a Henric fiberglass roof and at the time you could not get gutter repair panels so I fabricated the bottom lip so I could bolt the Henric roof on.
I has recently appeared Mid Summer Murders where it is in shot a lot.I had quite shock to see on the telly and they did't change the number plate, but not the first time been it been in a film as when David Thomas had it was in a film but it was a disaster
and I never seen it on telly but did get a video of it.
I used him for about 5 years then I sold him to Peter Coulis who tidied him up and sold him on.

No body interior struts either, not much strength to allow for flexing.irmscher wrote:For that money its a shame the engine bay isn't clean and the headlining is as saggy as my grannys knickerstoo many overpriced vans nowadays

Re: FAMOUS VAN ?
Ah yes Romeo - I recall seeing that episode of Midsomer Murders ('Written in the Stars') with your old van, as you say it featured quite a bit in it.
