Hi All
I am going to have to replace my fuel tank soon,so I am in the market for a new tank anyone?
I would also like to know, which body sealer would be best,ie between the tank to body
Any suggestions please?
best regards
Trevor

Re: Traveller fuel Tank
Probably best to just phone round the suppliers to see who has a 'deal' on, or is close enough for you to collect and not have to pay carriage. Does anyone know who actually MAKES the tanks?? Presumably they could offer a better price - this was how I sourced my (nevertheless still v expensive) new TR7 tank. I painted it before fitting - but actually I think tanks mostly rot from the inside out.. Dum Dum is the traditional sealer.

Hi
Many thanks for that,it appears that tanks have jumped up in price?I did consider the larger tanks, but you cannot fit your spare wheel back,so for me thats a non starter.
Thanks also for the tip on dumdum,I used it when I replaced the glass in my Traveller doors
Speak again soon
best regards

Re: Traveller fuel Tank
I have now purchased a new Heritage fuel tank from ESM,great service as usual.
I noted on one of the red plastic covers, fitted while in store, had the word MOSS!!!
The old one came out, with out much trouble, just a couple of self tappers put up a fight!!!!
I am changing everything,to cure that smell of petrol, there was a slight leak at the seem.
Just for a laugh,I went online to 1st choice car spares, they claim to have over 270 uk car breakers.
Out of those 270,I got one reply, and they wanted £350,plus £10 p&p and came with 3 months warranty
I wont be trying them again for classic car spares!!!!
I went for the standard tank, because the large tank can have fuel gauge reading problems, and no room for the spare wheel,
just like a new car, sold with out a spare wheel,or if you are lucky a space saver!!!
regards
