Have a go yourself they are simple
with the price garages charge you would save money and gain expertise for next time

Hello...
Thanks for the replies... I'm in Charlton SE7 so not far from Poplar... I was always planning to service it myself but haven't got round to it...
I think you're right though I should do it myself... I had to do the head gasket when we first bought her... I've always driven old VWs and can work on them with my eyes closed so I'm confident do it... I guess I'm just getting to be an old dog not really wanting (too lazy!!) to learn a new trick and keep putting it off!!

you could service it in the time it would take you to take it to and fetch it from a garage

Those round tuits can be hard to find but it's a straight forwards job.
