New clutch today but......

Post by lambrettalad »

I just had fitted a new 1098 clutch kit (from moggie centre in black country )

foot on clutch 3/4 way down great lovely and smooth changing gear is like a baby's bottom :D

BUT clutch all the way down terrible rattle and can't get gears without awful crunching sound

is it over adjusted?

hints and solutions very very welcome
Cheers Alex

Should have about 1" free play at the pedal - and is the return spring fitted? Simple answer to 'all the way down' problem is to fit a rubber stopper on the floor under the pedal to stop it going down more than it needs to.

a rubber block does seem a little crude but effective I guess.
Is it a diaphragm type or not?

Better than putting the clutch release forks on the wrong way round... Now that is silly
