Pattern Parts

Post by mike.perry »

I recently bought a new clutch carbon thrust release bearing for my Series MM. Previously the 803/948 clutch assembly has fitted. Yesterday I trid to fit the new release bearing and found that this is no longer the case. On examining the parts I found that the hole through the centre of the old bearing was wider at the back where it fitted over the scroll on the gearbox front plate. The hole on the new bearing was the same diameter right through so that it would not fit.
Is this the standard design for the 948 thrust bearing or just from one supplier?

Can you not just open out the hole - is there much difference in it??
