Carb Setup

Post by Boomlander »

Hi all,
I will be fitting Jethro with a reconditioned HS2 carburettor and was wondering what initial settings I should use in order to get the engine idling without continually spluttering to a halt as soon as the choke is pushed in.
The manual advises warming the engine up to make final adjustments to the mixture but obviously you need to run the engine off choke to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Doesn't really matter - folks will tell you 12 flats down from jet flush with the bridge etc - but it's all just a guess. Get it running and fiddle with it as soon as you can get the choke in.

If it stops without the choke out try raising the tickover with the idle screw.
