Some manifold nuts are blanked at one end and some have a hole right through

correct, m8 fine, and these bolts and nuts are often on stock at the local Massey Ferguson dealer ;)

Hi, Yes the original nuts are made from Steel and are metric M8 fine. They sometimes get a bit rusty and can be difficult to remove and look rather grotty. I made a set of brass ones for my car and they looked awesome and they won’t rust. Let me know if you’re interested and I can make you a set.
