Front suspension help

Hi I'm having a problem getting the wishbone tie-bar off does the slotted nut have a split pin because I can't get it to budge. Also I can't get the lower left hand link off it turns both ways to a point then it won't budge I only want to replace the rubbers.

an take out the lower trunnion pin before unscrewing the trunnion or you will strip the thread on the kingpin or steering leg

What's the 'lower link' - can you identify it from the MOSS diagram?? http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Shop/ViewP ... exID=17091 And whatever 'rubbers' you paln to replace, far far better to fit polyurethane bushes....... and as Dennis point's out - a castellated nut is designed to have a split pin through - so yes, it's likely to be there.......Be sure to fit one when you put it back together!

Number 40 lower trunnion and I'm replacing rubbers with poly

Good - but you don't remove that to get to the rubber eyebolt bushes..... If you DO want to remove it (for inspection) then indeed as mentioned already - you must remove the pin item 99 before attempting to unscrew the trunnion..... Some have been known to FORCE it off - ruining kingpin and trunnion -and the pin.... The REALLY important bushes to change to poly are in the top trunnion - item 23.

Thanks for the help bmc I'm trying to replace 27 and 43 but I'm now thinking I've done 27 wrong I've put a poly bush on there

27 and 43 are just little rubber sleeves - to keep the muck out......I'm not aware of any poly alternatives for them. Normally would be the top trunnion bushes (item23), the eyebolt bushes (item 73) and ONE only of the tiebar front bushes (item 104) - keep the other one (the inner one) as rubber to leave some compliance.
