Attempted break in to my Morris.

Post by xlollx »

I don't have the facilities to park my morris on a driveway so she gets parked up on a street.

I noticed tonight that the front drivers side door handle was wobbly. Upon further inspection there are paint chips and it looks like someone has tried opening the handle with a screwdriver or some tool. They have done the same with the other handles but must have got bored or scared off.

I'm thinking of investing in a steering wheel lock. Does anybody recommend one (big enough)? or any other tips? Is it worth reporting this to the police?

Report it and get a crime number. Then go buy a disc lok.

Sorry to read about this, but there are some losers about.

And fit a secret switch if it doesn't have one already.

You must report it to the police. If you don't they will think there is no crime in your area and will never patrol it.

In the meantime remove the rotor arm when it is parked up.

Disklok is the best visible and practical deterrent.

Sorry to here this :( Yes agree, disclok, there great, heavy to live with lifting on and off but fit on the passenger foot well ok, you need a large one to fit a morris minor steering wheel. available in silver and yellow. Yellow ones fade though badly. I have silver one on my van and does the job, also as stated before get a secret cut of switch and isolate the solanoid. I did the rotor arm trick but isnt good as if you do it alot the rotor arm gets worn the platic and becomes loose on the disy shaft....
