Where is it now? KRU 883

Hi all,
Just wondering what happened to my fathers old 1951 series MM. It was a very interesting car with one or two experimental features. He believes the car was older than 1951 due to various early features, so perhaps it was a test bed car. It had when he bought it a pair of disabled seats. Had at some time had some kind of steering collumn mechanisn, but never worked out what it was. It was a very sentimental car, and if anyone ever hears of it being offered for sale, please let me know. The last I heard was that it was still owned by Mr Merryfield, who purchased the car off my father. That was a good few years ago now, not sure if he still owns it or not.

The latest records I have was that it was owned by Steve Merrifield in 2009, I last saw it at the Haynes Museum National Rally at Sparkford.
It is still on the road so there is a good chance that it will turn up at another rally

I borrowed it from Stephen Merrifield for three years or so in the mid 90s 95-98ish. I rebuilt the engine and used it for the 1997 JOGLE Run (John O'Groats to Lands End in under 24hrs) in companionship with another MM from the Barnsley Branch. Think we did it in about 21hrs. Always tended to run hot so had a few cooling off stops on route... Prob needed a rad recore.
Then Stephen had it back, I last saw him with it at the Haynes National Rally, I assume he still has it.

It was pretty standard MM in terms of seats etc, but it had had flashing indicators rather unsympathetically fitted and they didn't work so I removed them and got the trafficators working when I had it. Think it was registered in Jan 51 which seemed right in terms of spec - seats etc.

All the pics from that pre digital camera era are stashed away at my parents house. I'll dig them out and scan some next time I'm there, thought just had a quick look on this hard drive and found one from 1998, the Minor 50th anniversary year when the MMOC did a round Britain baton run between the branches and areas. Pic was somewhere near York on the handover of the baton from Barnsley to Yorvik branch I think...[frame][/frame]
