Sealant between timber and body panels
Assuming that it can't be injected with any degree of pressure, can old sealant between Traveller body panels and woodwork be successfully replaced by riving out the old stuff that is breaking down and applying something like black silicone sealant with the panels and timber in situ? from mrc 22.3.13

Yes, but don't use silicone, use mastic.
Silicone is hard to remove and paint won't adhere to it, and it's not flexible enough when dry.
