what year they moved wiper motor

Post by Nutts »

Hi
I am trying to locate a wiper motor and have spoken to a number of regular suppliers (breakers) and they all ask what year of car ?

Is there a definative answer as to when they changed ?

Early cars up to Chassis No. 448714 used the Lucas CRT motor mounted inside the dashboard on the driver's side.
Later cars from October 1954 used the Lucas DR2 motor mounted in the engine compartment on the nearside in the region of the fuel pump.

And after 1962/3 (?) the wiper motor changed again to suit the different sweep angle.

The motor did not change in 62/63 just the wheel inside the motor housing which controls the sweep angle. When you buy a new motor you buy just that a motor, you are expected to reuse your original wheel which is the bit that changed.
